Paper Heart by Ramiro Lagos

I am buried in papers.
How it exhausts me
to grapple with your notoriety, your to-do list
full of all my handwritten notes,
words my pen writes with love.

Your heart is made of paper: the sum
of all the papers you have conquered.
Every woman knows when she is an artist
to play the role which will flatter her.

The pages of the calendar, pages, pages
inscribed affectionately with the deadlines
for the silky paper, the object of your caress.

The edition is finished, and your work is done.
Without papers to make, your soul turns to silk,
and you have already given me the best news.

Corazón de Papel

Empapelado estoy. Cómo me abruma
